Police Chief Matthew Naegele

On behalf of the men and women of the Willoughby Hills Police Department, it’s my pleasure to welcome you to our website.  Our Department is a full service law enforcement agency providing police services to the residents, businesses and guests of our City. The Department’s Divisions include Patrol Bureau, Detective Bureau, Community Policing, Special Enforcement Units and Administration.  Police and Fire Emergency Dispatching Services are provided by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Central Communications Center. Officers from our department are members of the Western Lake County Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Lake County Accident Investigation Team. We also work closely with other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to provide the finest law enforcement services to our community.

Our goal is to enhance the quality of life in our City by providing a full range of proactive professional police services, enforcing the laws, reducing the fear of crime, promoting joint problem solving for safe, secure neighborhoods and working in partnerships with the community to preserve life, property and the constitutional rights of all.

This commitment has led to our adopting a proactive approach to developing partnerships to help solve community problems and to improve those quality of life issues that are important to us all. These relationships are instrumental in making our City a wonderful community in which to live, work and play.
