As you read on, we hope that you will find some important and interesting information about our services. Please provide us with your suggestions as to what you would find helpful in this webpage.

The Willoughby Hills Fire Department is a service-driven organization comprised of highly trained professionals dedicated to protecting lives and property.

Our level of service has a direct impact on the quality of life in your community and we are proud to safeguard the health and safety of our citizens by providing the highest quality of service available.

Established in 1947, the Willoughby Hills Fire Department has evolved from a volunteer organization consisting of 14 firefighters providing basic fire protection to a “combination”  (career & part-time) fire department staffed by 40-50 firefighters providing fire, rescue, emergency medical service, and other professional services around the clock.

Practice Fire Safety

More than 4,000 Americans die each year in fires and approximately 20,000 are injured. An overwhelming number of fires occur in the home.  There are time-tested ways to prevent and survive a fire.  It’s not a question of luck.  It’s a matter of practicing and planning ahead. Please visit FireSafety.gov at http://www.firesafety.gov/index.shtm and develop a plan to stay safe in your home.

Our department looks forward to its continued commitment to excellence and service to our community.  The officers and staff offer our sincere thanks to the community, Mayor Weger, and our City Council, for their support and encouragement.

The Fire Department is located in the City Hall municipal complex, located at 35405 Chardon Road, just east of SOM Center Road (Route 91).
